Songwriting

I Don’t Mind

I wrote and recorded this song in November 2023, playing with the metaphor of glass throughout the verses, which goes against the chorus: “I don’t mind / waiting all this time.” The fragility of glass and the willingness to wait seemingly forever for something or someone provides an interesting lyrical contrast. For the production, I wanted the main vocal to shine above all else, with the backing vocals even sometimes overpowering the light, airy guitar backing.

Sunken Eyes and Pretty Lies

I wrote and recorded this song in July 2021, with the lyrics reflecting the natural state of loneliness caused by the pandemic. I wanted to keep the production on this song very warm and bright. This track sounds quite similar to “I Don’t Mind,” but this is an intentional choice— this song essentially functions as a prequel in an evolving emotional narrative.
